EBi Hires Jon Collins for New Business Development Position

Jon Collins has been named Regional Director for Business Development at Educational Benefits (EBi). He brings with him more than 28 years of experience in education, as well as a background in administration and legislation.

Collins most recently served as superintendent of West Memphis School District for nine years, during which he was named Arkansas Superintendent of the Year in 2018. Along with Collins’ time as superintendent, he served on the Arkansas AASA Board as president and the National AASA Governing Board, as well as being a member of the Arkansas Advisory Committee on Public School Academic Facilities, which positioned him as a trusted leader in the field of education.

“We are excited to have someone with Jon’s extensive experience in public school administration to add to our EBI team,” said Kim Tidwell, Vice President of EBi. John Starling, owner of EBi, echoed Tidwell’s sentiments and said, “Jon’s 28 years of experience in Arkansas schools, with the last nine years as superintendent of the West Memphis School District, will help EBi continue to bring new solutions to school districts in Arkansas and the surrounding states.”

In his new position, Collins will be responsible for developing new business opportunities in the Arkansas school market and will be one of the first points of contact schools encounter when working with EBi. Housed under EBi’s sales department, the position of Regional Director for Business Development will be integral to gaining the trust and support of school districts around the state.

“After a 28-year career in education & accomplishing just about everything a school superintendent could over the last decade, I just felt the time was right to pass the torch,” Collins said. “When the opportunity to join EBi as Regional Director of Business Development presented itself it was a no-brainer for me.  It is a first-class organization that cares about doing the right thing for its customers.”

Collins noted the company as a first-class organization that cares about doing the right thing for its customers. Due to his experience with the company as an educator, Collins brings a fresh but knowledgeable perspective to his position.

He added, “I’ve always had a passion for taking care of educators and school personnel.  Now, I get to do it on a larger scale by providing benefit services with a team that I know and believe in.”
